Can I choose the shop that will repair my vehicle?
You have the legal right to choose a repair facility. Your insurance company can suggest shops but you are not obligated to go to a specific shop. Your insurance company is obligated to cover the reasonable cost of returning your vehicle to pre-accident condition at the shop of your choice.
How long do I have to wait for an estimate?
If your vehicle can be safely driven, you can stop in. No appointment is required. Estimates can take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the extent of damages. Yes, the insurance company can come to our shop to assess the damages and process the claim and we'll be there to make sure they keep your best interests in mind.
Can you adjust the estimate to cover my deductible?
No, misrepresenting the cost of repairs constitutes fraud.
Can I insist on new, original parts being used for repairs?
If parts are being replaced on you vehicle, your insurance company is required to pay for original factory parts unless you agree to aftermarket parts (sometimes referred to a CAPA certified). Your insurance company is required to return your vehicle to pre-accident condition so if your vehicle is not brand new at the time of loss the insurer does have the right to pay for "like kind and quality" parts. This means they can pay for used factory OE parts. We understand the laws governing insurers actions and will take the time to ensure you understand the process as well.
